“These are imaginings of landscape along the estuary where I live as it might be… or perhaps might have been. The intention is to explore the feeling of what it was like to be in that place rather than convey any sense of its history or geography. The simplest brush gesture can convey basic motifs of landscape; the ground, sky, water, tree and horizon with all the tones, colours, compositions and relationships within.”
