DRAWINGS / PRINTS
These are small edition prints of an original drawing. They are made in Harry’s studio in on the finest heavyweight Japanese washi paper. Each print comes in a secure reusable plastic box, wrapped in tissue and ready for framing. We usually recommend that these prints are 'float mounted’ to reveal the beautiful deckled edge of the paper. All prints measure 210 x 290 mm.
The prints work in parallel to Harry's larger photographic works. The 10x8 inch camera has a strong capacity to render the totality of visual information of a place; it shows every single detail with no abstraction. His drawings of the salt marsh where he lives on the other hand explore the opportunities of minimal information, where gesture, tone, colour and often singe line are used to represent the fundamental elements of this intriguing landscape.
Here the simplest lines explore the forces of nature that form creeks, dunes, rills, dips and swirls where sand, water and air react to the pressures of time, tide, gravity and wind.
